Jennifer Nichols

PRESIDENT

Jennifer has been involved in horticulture for over 25 years. In addition to owning and operating GreenWeaver Landscapes, she currently sits on the Middletown Twp., Delaware County Environmental Advisory Council, serves on the Board of Directors of the CRC Watersheds Association, and volunteers for the Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter Southeastern Political Action Committee.  

She holds a Certificate of Merit in Ornamental Plants and a Certificate of Merit in Landscape Design from Longwood Gardens where she taught both storm water management and landscape design.  Jennifer instructs on many aspects of ecological landscaping including holistic design, the use of native plants, and low impact property management. 

Greg Nicholos

GREG NICHOLS

VICE PRESIDENT

Greg has been in professional horticulture for over 30 years. He is an International Society of Arboriculture certified arborist (MA-0510A), a PA certified pesticide applicator (BU10663), and is a member of the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) where he served as the president in 2007. 

Greg started in landscaping by mowing lawns while attending George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Upon graduation, he founded Twin Oaks Landscaping which he operated until 2004. Greg worked as Assistant Director of Facilities for Grounds at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, PA, from 2004-2008.

RYAN SNYDER

GENERAL MANAGER

Ryan has been involved in the landscape industry for 10 years. His experience spans from residential maintenance/installation to commercial contracting and landscape construction with heavy emphasis on project management. This involvement has given him hands-on experience with projects ranging from open space reforestation, hardscape design and construction, new construction installation, and renovations both small and large.

Ryan enjoys sharing his knowledge with both GreenWeaver employees and the public, and is currently an instructor at Longwood Gardens where he teaches Designing Stormwater Solutions.

His certifications include: Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute - Certified Paver Installer (ICPI CPI), National Concrete Masonry Association - Segmental Retaining Wall Installer (NCMA SRWI), Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association - Sustainable Landscape Certificate (PLNA SLC), Occupational Safety Health Administration - 30 Hour General (OSHA 30).

Michele Christiano

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Michele began her career at a local garden center over 20 years ago and since then has worked at private estates as well as the public gardens of Winterthur, Longwood Gardens, and Nemours Estate.

She has also taught Botany for Gardeners at Mt. Cuba Center and wrote for Fine Gardening Magazine as the Mid-Atlantic regional reporter. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from West Chester University and has completed the Certificate of Merit in Ornamental Horticulture from Longwood Gardens.


Away from work, she loves spending time with her kids out in nature and gardening.

JOHN MAJDIC

LANDSCAPE DESIGNER

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Temple University. Through his schooling he developed a modern approach to designing multi-functional outdoor spaces that blend native ecology with practical, people-friendly solutions.

He incorporates ethical stormwater management, native plantings, and habitat gardens into his plans in an artful manner that reflects the aesthetic desires of his clients along with their sense of environmental stewardship.

John spent several years working in residential and commercial contracting, which provided him with a valuable perspective on the construction process necessary to transform a drawing on paper into a completed project.

John shares his knowledge of ecological design at both Longwood Gardens where he teaches landscape design theory, and Morris Arboretum where he instructs on designing stormwater solutions for homeowners.

OLIVIA KIRKPATRICK

LANDSCAPE DESIGNER

Olivia has an undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware in Landscape Architecture with a minor in Horticulture, and a background in fine and studio arts. Prior to joining the GreenWeaver team, Olivia held positions at the Tyler Arboretum, Mt. Cuba Center, Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, Viridian Landscape Studio and Evolution Landscape Design. Their work  experience in public gardens has given them a strong understanding of maintenance needs for large scale landscapes, as well as conservation and sustainability.

In addition to designing, Olivia is an enthusiastic instructor on all aspects of ecological landscape design.  They currently teach Garden Design for Homeowners and a Garden Care series at Mt. Cuba Center.

Outside of work, Olivia spends their time making art and working with the medicinal plants they grow in their home garden. They are very proud to have grown the native Passiflora incarnata, maypop, in their garden for the first time in 2021.

CLARA MONSMA

STEWARDSHIP & GARDENING SUPERVISOR

Clara holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology and Environmental Studies from Oberlin College, where their studies focused on the botany and ecology of native East Coast flora. Through their work experience in environmental education, Clara has gained extensive knowledge of native plants and wildlife. They harness their passion for ethical, ecological gardening to promote wildlife habitat and ecosystem services in their gardening work. Clara is a natural organizer and loves systems of all kinds. They take great pride in leading the Stewardship and Gardening Department to flourish along with the properties we serve.

They hold a Sustainable Landscape Certification (SLC) from the Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association (PLNA) and a Certificate of Merit in Landscape Design from Longwood Gardens.

Emily Leaman

FIELD SUPERVISOR

Before Emily’s journey in horticulture started, she worked in the healthcare industry for 12 years. While she enjoyed interacting with the residents, it was time for a change.

Emily started in horticulture 2 years ago at North Creek Nurseries, where her role as a plant trials gardener afforded her the opportunity to learn about native plants and ecology. She had always had a passion for plants, but it continued to grow as she learned more.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys canning and preserving vegetables from her garden, hunting, and fishing. She loves spending time in her backyard gardening with her 4 dogs and tending to her chickens.

Jack Nichols

ESTIMATOR

Jack graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture and multiple honors. After college, he worked at a Landscape Architecture & Planning firm where he served on multiple planning and design projects.

His knowledge of ecology and native plants help our team to promote flourishing ecosystems. Jack has been with Greenweaver for over 10 years, and has held many positions including crew member, crew leader, design intern, procurement associate and estimator. When not at work, Jack enjoys spending time outside with his wife and their dog, playing disc golf, and rock climbing.

BARB YOUNG

OFFICE MANAGER

Barb has been in office management and customer service for over 30 years. Though she has worked in a variety of industries, she feels most at home in a green, sustainable company.

Barb holds dual degrees in Architecture and Construction Management. She thrives on organization and numbers analysis and has strong communication skills.

To fulfill her creative side she does picture framing, sketches and makes jewelry. Time away from work is spent hiking, gardening, dancing, and practicing and teaching yoga.

Jesus Medel

SENIOR CREW LEADER

Jesus Medel, Senior Crew Leader. Jesus joined GreenWeaver in 2019 as a crew leader. Since then, he has embraced ecological landscaping and steadily taken on more responsibility. Jesus uses creativity and tenacity when handed challenging projects.

Whether it is his first rain garden, or a total backyard renovation with stonework and a water feature, Jesus does the job right. His attention to detail, ability to tackle complex projects, and leadership skills made him the obvious choice for the position of Field Supervisor.

Jesus has a degree in Culinary Arts from the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana (Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana) in Mexico City, and if we are lucky, he also acts as head chef for GreenWeaver cookouts.

Mike Redden

CREW LEADER

Mike has been with GreenWeaver since 2016. A skilled
crew leader, Mike is fanatical about quality and passionate about environmental stewardship. He has experience in all aspects of ecological landscaping, from stormwater management projects to installing complex planting plans.

Always interested in learning more, Mike has completed training as a Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional and taken classes at Longwood Gardens and Mt. Cuba Center. Mike has a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from West Chester University.

Mike Byrne

CREW LEADER

After six years in urban agriculture and environmental education, Mike joined GreenWeaver in 2020. We knew he would not be a crew member for long, and with quick learning, hard work, and enthusiasm he was soon promoted to Crew Leader. Mike applies his care for the environment and his educational background as he teaches new crew members about ecological landscaping.

Rosalio Galindo

CREW LEADER

Rosalio, known as “Galindo” by his coworkers, has been on the GreenWeaver team for over 2 years.

Starting as a crew member, he gained skills and knowledge of landscape techniques to work his way to a crew leader. When asked what he likes most about what he does, he replies, “Everything!”

While not at work he enjoys spending time working on his car.

Mirna Canales

STEWARD

Mirna joined GreenWeaver in 2019 as a gardener. She now uses her years of horticulture experience, attention to detail, and abundant energy as a Steward in the gardening department. Mirna has a strong eye for aesthetics, which she puts to good use designing container plantings for our clients and decorating the beautiful cakes that she bakes in her spare time.

Mirna grew up in El Salvador and enjoys teaching gardeners new skills... both in English and Spanish!

Sarah Morales

STEWARD

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Horticulture and Design with a minor in Psychology from the University of Delaware, where her studies focused on the science, design, and sustainability of the landscapes we inhabit.

Sarah also completed a Senior Fellowship with the Environmental Leadership Program (DEWN ‘22). She has built an eclectic career over the last decade, where her most recent experience in the environmental education and community engagement fields has given her extensive knowledge of how humans, animals, plants, and the environment are interconnected.

Sarah is a real nerd for pawpaw trees (Asimina triloba) and American persimmons (Diospyros virginiana) and spends far too much time looking for their fruit. You can catch Sarah hiking with her dog, Badger, or not-so-quietly jamming out to music.

Brett Snyder

STEWARD

Brett started at GreenWeaver in 2023 and quickly moved from the position of Gardener to Steward because of his hard work and enthusiasm.

He is committed to the company's mission of environmental stewardship. With a passion for nurturing plants and creating beautiful outdoor spaces, Brett is dedicated to ensuring our clients' gardens thrive.


Outside of work, Brett enjoys shooting hoops, browsing a bookstore, and hanging out with friends and family.

Morgan Miles

STEWARDSHIP & GARDENING COORDINATOR

From her first time volunteering at a farm back in 2016, Morgan realized she loved being in the dirt. Since then, she has gone on to learn different ways to work with nature.

From learning about foraging and herbalism to being a farm hand, a vegetable and greenhouse grower at North Creek Nurseries, a Horticulture Assistant Gardener at Mt. Cuba, and now at GreenWeaver, she has been able to form an eclectic education both on the job and in the woods. 

In her free time, Morgan enjoys crocheting, cooking, going on long walks, working in her garden, and acquiring more hobbies than she knows what to do with.

GREENWEAVER SECURITY TEAM

It takes real teamwork to keep the GreenWeaver humans safe and secure while working hard and having fun. Molly and Scout keep everyone in their lane with a great attitude and gentle hand, or should we say paw? 

They love to perform sociological studies of their humans both on and off the clock.

Tater

COMPANY MORALE OFFICER

Tater excels at eliciting laughter and smiles with his infectious playfulness. He uses his talents diligently, keeping things from getting too serious in the high-pressure field of ecological landscaping.  He is also very involved in environmental research, investigating the sights, sounds, and smells of our local ecosystems. 

In his spare time, Tater loves to run and nap.
