Swamp Milkweed – Asclepias incarnata
Swamp milkweed is an unattractive name for a beautiful wildflower. Pink clusters of flowers appear on top of four foot high plants in the summer.
Not only do butterflies love it, milkweeds are the only plant Monarch caterpillars can eat. Monarch populations are in decline due to habitat loss, so it is important to plant milkweeds where we can.
