Sean McCracken
STEWARD
Sean began gardening professionally in 2016 after leaving the construction plumbing industry to go back to school. While working full time as a Landscape/Gardening foreman in New Jersey he was able to receive his Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Media studies. While at Rutgers Sean was able to take electives in horticultural sciences and couldn’t keep away from the plant world.
After graduating he accepted a job in New York City leading both installs and maintenance of indoor and outdoor horticulture projects of all sizes. As he worked he continued to take classes at New York Botanic Garden and Mt Cuba Center when he was visiting his family in Delaware. From there he was recruited to be the head of horticulture at a nature preserve that was attached to an estate and other properties. Eventually life brought him back to the Philadelphia area where he was raised and originally fell in love with gardens.
He continues to be patient about working with plants on high quality projects, and continue to learn as working with plants is a life dedicated to patience and learning.

Joe Nichols
CREW LEADER
Joe has been part of GreenWeaver for as long as he can remember—starting well before high school. Growing up in the sustainable landscaping world enabled him to discover early on the satisfaction of improving both people’s properties and the ecosystems they rely on. He started as a crew member and quickly developed the skills to lead teams and manage installation projects of all kinds.
During his two years in Baltimore playing college lacrosse, Joe returned each summer to deepen his knowledge of native and invasive plants, jobsite management, and a range of projects from plantings to hardscapes to stormwater management. Over the past year, he has expanded into the stewardship and gardening department while also contributing to marketing efforts and handling small engine and equipment repairs. A lifelong learner, Joe is constantly picking up new facts about plants and animals.
Outside of work, he enjoys snowboarding, going to concerts, and spending time outdoors—activities that fuel his passion for the natural world.

Alison Joyce
CREW LEADER
Alison came to GreenWeaver with a bachelor's degree in biology from Saint Joseph's University and a passion for the beauty of ecology and local ecosystems. Always excited to learn and aided by the patience and helpfulness of the rest of our team, she has grown in her technical skills and will be entering the new season as a crew leader. She loves the "rompecabezas," or puzzles that each project presents, and enjoys getting to be a part of the miniature restorations that happen every time we re-introduce native plants into a landscape.
Alison began her career in native plant landscaping through participating in the Natural Lands Force of Nature program, completing the Crow's Nest Internship for Land Stewardship and Environmental Education, working for Philly Parks & Rec Ben Outside Program, getting hands-on experience with a wide variety of plants at Redbud Native Plant Nursery, and co-creating meaningful opportunities for interaction with native animals and landscapes at UMLY's environmental education center. She currently leverages her penchant for connecting people to the landscapes that they live in by sharing fun facts with clients and answering their questions.
In her free time, Alison enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, disc golf, and volleyball with friends. She also loves a long photo hike, a good audio book, and making music.

Talia Brinker
LANDSCAPE DESIGNER
Talia recently graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. During her summers, she worked at a marina on the C&D Canal, where she grew her love and appreciation for wetlands and riparian habitat.
She also interned with UD and Delaware Sea Grant’s Coastal Resilience Design Studio where she and her team worked to bring climate resilience through storm water mitigation and wetland restoration projects to underserved coastal communities. She focused on concepts of ecological restoration design while in school and now brings her knowledge to design native landscapes that bridge the gap between humans and nature.
Talia grew up riding horses and spending as much time outside as possible. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new places, finding live music, and fishing the Chesapeake with her friends and family.

Mike Byrne
CREW LEADER
After six years in urban agriculture and environmental education, Mike joined GreenWeaver in 2020.
